I don't have a frame of reference for FUE hair transplants because I've only had one so far. But I can say that I have been impressed with Dr. Civas & Akpinar's operation. They handled everything except my flight that I purchased on my own. Transportation to and from the airport and clinic were all expertly handled. I stayed at a fantastic hotel in a great neighborhood that they've been using for years. I took time to explore beautiful Ankara over the weekend before the surgery Monday morning and really enjoyed myself. Its a fantastic city and I never worried about any crime even while walking alone at night.

The doctors both speak English and so does their coordinator.

But you want to know about the hair. I had been told by a few clinics that my donor area was weak and that I was not eligible. However I can say my hair was buzz cut short and didn't reflect the whole picture via photos. I grew my hair out prior to surgery and Dr. Civas was happy with the density. They did roughly 3200 grafts. It took most all day to complete with a team working diligently the entire time.

Its still a bit thin at the crown. I'm unsure if I have/had enough donor hair to cover that. But I would say they've done a good job and the hairline looks completely natural. My photos are about 11months apart.

I had two hair transplant procedures at this clinic —because the bald area was large. All I can say is I'm absolutely amazed with the results. From beginning to end, the entire experience was exceptional.

Dr. Umit Akpinar and his team thoroughly explained the entire procedure beforehand, and during the operation, I was pleasantly surprised by how (almost) painless it was. Dr. Umit Akpinar and his team frequently checked in to ensure I don’t feel any pain. They provided breaks throughout the day and and provided lunch and snacks. After the procedure, again again there was no pain, just a slight discomfort. Dr. Umit Akpinar and his team’s post-operation instructions were very detailed, leaving no room for a mistake. The next day they carefully show you how to wash my hair and apply the treatments. In the subsequent months, whenever I had questions, the clinic was available on whasapp and promptly responded and provided helpful answers.

Overall, I am immensely grateful to the entire team for their kind approach, professionalism and expertise. The whole experience has truly exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I now feel happy every time I look in the mirror, and everyone who sees the new me says this is the best and most natural-looking hair transplant they've ever seen. If you are considering to have a hair transplant, this is “the” place for the best results.

Very good center, doctors and nurses are very professional. The experience is present, there is nothing in the chain, 1 patient per day to properly supervise and the number of grafts is sufficient depending on the case. We are far from the 4000-5000 or 6000 grafts taken at once.

I am very happy to have chosen HLC.

In my case, on the second day after arriving at the clinic,Dr. Özgür Öztan and his assistant examined my hair and informed me of the following:
1. They told me that a maximum of 3500-6500 grafts could be harvested, but beyond 3500 would be risky.
2. They offered me two options:
1. A lower hairline with a density of 40 grafts per square centimeter.
2. A higher hairline with a density of 45 grafts per square centimeter.

I chose the second option, 3806 grafts (which was close to the 3500-3700 discussed in the emails). In my own opinion density is the most important factor, and in the end, the hairline was not as high as I feared. I am very pleased with it.

Dr. Ahmet Cengiz Berk's team performed the surgery. The entire surgery was painless quick and accurate. Dr. Ahmet Cengiz Berk’s skills are superb, when the two-day surgery was completed, I was thrilled to see the neatly arranged follicles.

I would also like to especially thank Ms. Ebru. She is truly dedicated and patient. Although I can understand most English, my spoken English is very poor. Ms. Ebru was always there when I needed her, which made me feel very reassured.

In conclusion, I want to say that choosing HLC is one of the best decisions I have made in many years. I will update my photos in the coming months if possible.

Prior to my hair transplant at HLC in Ankara, I spent years researching FUE techniques, medication, and alternative treatments such as SMP, which I initially had done in 2015. (Pictures attached: shaven and hair grown out for context).

During the lockdown, I had more time to apply my understanding, which ultimately narrowed down my search criteria. This gave me the comfort of knowing that highly qualified doctors would perform my procedure.

From the moment of arrival until departure, the care and professionalism at HLC are exceptional. The days designated for pre- and post-surgery are seamlessly structured, as communicated before arrival, which maintained my confidence and comfort, especially since I traveled alone to a foreign country.

Throughout my stay, I was in constant communication with the lovely Ebru, who provided answers, guidance, and coordination. All I needed to do was land in Ankara, and the rest was taken care of by the team at HLC.

Even before my arrival, I felt like a valued patient. My flight from London was delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight from Istanbul to Ankara. I was initially scheduled to arrive in Ankara at 21:30 but ended up landing around 4 AM due to delays. Throughout this time, Ebru was awake and constantly monitoring my status, and Ataner, HLC’s driver, was waiting for me since midnight without a hint of annoyance.

Hairline Consultation
My primary concern was addressing my hairline and temples to ensure my pre-existing SMP design would be hidden by the new grafts. I plan to return for a second session to achieve more density.

Overall, my experience was 10/10. The consultations were reassuring and informative, setting realistic expectations based on my hair quality and donor availability. I look forward to returning.

Absolutely amazing results 5 Months post-op! Overall I was welcomed on site very pleasantly, doctors and staff really care about your concerns and hear your opinion out. Post-op care and communication is amazing, they take care of every concern you may have and like I said, the results after just 5 Months are incredibly natural and phenomenal! You should be very careful choosing a clinic in Turkey, but this one is worth every cent you pay for! If anybody is scared that they may destroy your donor or make an unnatural hairline, like I was, choosing this clinic is the only right decision. It may be pricey compared to the rest of turkish clinics, but in the end you may not even have to come for a second operation, as the work they do here is the best of the best.

I highly recommend this clinic, the accommodations, food, service and the skill of the surgeon and staff were unbeatable. I got 2027 fue grafts in the front. It’s been 6 months but results are generally around 12-18 months. So far it looks and feels amazing. I have been taking fin 1-1.25mg and minoxidil oral 2.5mg for almost the same amount of time, which helps the rest of the hair. I regret getting my crown done somewhere else for more than 2x the money and a worse result. HLC is the best clinic in the world

Had my hair transplant a year ago from HLC and couldn’t be happier with my results, I have a full head of very thick hair now and it has drastically changed my appearance for the better. Everything from the staff to the facilities were amazing and couldn’t have had a better experience, I’m so glad I chose HLC and paid extra rather than going to a cheap clinic. I constantly get told I look 10 years younger than before (I am 33 years old) I just wish I had of gotten this done a few years ago.

I waited 6 months to write this review. It has been 6 months since October and I am very happy with the result. First of all, you can have transplantation here with your eyes closed. I did a lot of research and reached Mr. Şahin directly without contacting anywhere else.

From the first moment I contacted Ergin, Şahin's assistant, to this moment, I have never regretted having a transplant done here.

This was my second planting. I had my first transplant done elsewhere in 2017. Because I was living in Istanbul and I had never heard of Mr. Şahin. If I had known, I would have definitely had my first transplant done by him.

Mr. Şahin is not a new person in this field. Someone who is known, recognized and respected. He really knows his job very well. More importantly, he has a great personality and humanity. Money is really secondary. Be assured that the price given to you is a very reasonable price. Because, apart from Mr. Şahin, at least 5 other people take care of you from morning to evening.

He even gives you free vitamin supplements and sprays to use after the transplant. They sell this for money in many places. Additionally, many applications that cost money everywhere are free here. They even offer free PRP service after transplantation. In short, pay that money without bargaining.

Finally, I want to say this; Mr. Şahin and his team do not sell you dreams. They tell you what will happen, taking into account your hair quality, the density of the donor area and your lightness. My hair developed as they said in the beginning.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Ergin. He always dealt with me with great kindness whenever I contacted him.

Hair transplantation is a really difficult procedure for the person performing it. It is a very labor-intensive operation in which the follicles are opened one by one and the hair is transplanted one by one after being removed from the donor area. I would also like to thank the entire team who carried out these procedures with great patience. Thank you for your effort.
